March Newsletter

As a practice enrolled in the MidSouth Practice Transformation Network (PTN), you are part of a network of nearly 100 practices encompassing approximately 4,000 clinicians across Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. During the past year, we helped our practices create individualized plans for change and held two successful summits where practices came together to learn about quality improvement and the changing landscape of healthcare payment.  This spring we will hold another round of summits to equip your practice for success in 2017 and highlight the exciting work taking place across the network.  We look forward to the year ahead working with you to improve healthcare in the region!

The Value of PTN Participation

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) ended the Sustainable Growth Rate formula approach to payment and consolidated components of three existing programs (PQRS, Meaningful Use, Value-Based Modifier) into The Quality Payment Program (QPP). The Quality Payment Program is designed to promote high-quality, patient-centered care with continuous improvement at it’s core.

Your participation in the MidSouth Practice Transformation Network, part of the CMS Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative, will prepare you for participation in the Quality Payment Program through either the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or graduation to an Advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM).
